Sun Weimin, Vice Chairman of Suning Tesco, said at a recent Expo that the company added 5,000 offline stores this year. A conservative estimate has it that, by 2020, the number of offline Suning stores will reach 20,000+, and overall transactions will reach CNY4 trillion. However, the number of offline omnichannel stores has now reached 10,000, making the chain second in China by store count. Suning believes its number of physical stores will make the largest operator in China within the next three years.
